Company Overview

We opened July 1960 as Ken Dixon Chevrolet Buick. We quickly became Southern Maryland's largest automobile dealership. From the beginning we've had a culture of respect for the customer and for our employees. It's this philosophy that has propelled us from a small business, employing six people originally to the large operation we are today We currently represent Chevrolet and are Honda and Cadillac's exclusive dealers for Southern Maryland.

Company History

1961 Opened as Ken Dixon Chevrolet Buick in the facility that is now the Chevrolet Cadillac dealership.
1963.Expanded used car department with a separate building.
1965, expanded service department.
1965 became a Honda motorcycle dealer.
1966, July the Sunday of the Waldorf firemen parade and Carnival. The building catches fire in the parts department. The Parts Department is lost, and the facility is very badly damaged. Service was able to get operating within two days thanks to other dealers who supplied us with parts. The sales department and general office operated from trailers for almost a year.
1973 Honda automobile franchise added.
1974 the first oil embargo. The average vehicle got around 10 miles per gallon. We had waiting lists for Honda motorcycles and cars, and you couldn't give away a Buick Electra.
1982, we win the Chevrolet Service Supremacy award.
1980 Our, founder Ken Dixon is named Time Magazine Quality Dealer of the year for Maryland
1988-1990 we completed a major renovation that closely resembles the dealership facilities today. We went from four total acres to nine, we tore down three obsolete buildings and replace them with three new ones. We relit the entire parking lots, and show rooms with color corrected lights and put an underground infrastructure connecting all buildings.
1989 Cadillac added to our dealership
1990 Mazda added to our dealership.
1995 Mazda business sold.
1996, the previous Mazda and used car sales building was joined with the previous Mazda service facility to make one large new Honda dealership.
2001 Hyundai added to our dealership and Buick sold.
2003 we win the Honda Pres.'s award for the first time.
2006 the Waldorf Auto Outlet opens.
